WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS CUSTOMS IMPORT DOCUMENTS RELATED TO WAREHOUSE?
When your cargo enters into a customs public bonded warehouse, the personnel over there require you to issue them the below following documents. These documents are mandatory for whichever customs public bonded warehouse you move your cargo to for their operation and documentation purposes.

a) Bill of Entry:
This is a Indian custom document wherein important various import information about the details of importer, port of loading/discharge, Vessel name/No in which the cargo was carried, Import General Manifest Number (IGM) filed by the shipping Carriers/Liners with customs department, Container Number in which the cargo was stuffed, Bill of Laden No., Commercial invoice Number, description of cargo, quantity and weight of cargo, value of goods assessed after landing in Indian soil and computation of Indian Duty value as per Indian customs tariff under various Duty-heads are furnished.
b) Ocean Bill of Laden (OBL):
This document indicates a particular carrier/liner through which the goods have been moved/placed to their final destination and the conditions for transporting the shipment to its final destination. An OBL includes names and address of shipper(consignor) and the receiver(consignee), Commercial Invoice Number, container numbers, quantity shipped with its volume in CBMs, description of cargo shipped, shipment date, cargo value and freight classification.
c) Commercial Invoice:
It serves as a primary document used by foreign customs agencies for import control, valuation and duty determination. It also services as a legal evidence of a sale transaction between the buyer and the seller. A commercial Invoice includes country of origin of the cargo, exporter(seller), importer(buyer) information, Invoice number and date, Harmonized system (HS) code, payment terms, price(s), sale value and quantity of goods being sold.
d) Packing List:
A packing list itemizes the contents of each package (packed in carton box, pallets/skids). It includes weights, measurements and detailed list of goods in each package stuck to the outside of a package with a copy inside.
e) Technical specification:
For Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical machineries, technical parameters are furnished in a hand manual about its functions under various categories.
With regard to chemical cargo, hazardous category types with safety measures for handling besides it’s shelve life is indicated.
